Media Controller Warranty & Accidental Damage Policy

This Media Controller Limited Warranty and Accidental Damage Coverage (the “Warranty”) governs the terms under which the OTS Media Controller hardware device (the “Product”) is repaired or replaced. Subject to the terms and limitations set forth herein, the Product is eligible for warranty coverage for the duration of an active and paid subscription associated with the Product up to 7 years of the original shipping date. Prosumer accounts are warrantied up to 5 years from the original shipping date.

Coverage Overview

Active Subscription Coverage
  • Coverage remains active as long as the subscription is active up to 7 years.
  • Covers manufacturer defects and accidental damage.
  • Accidental damage includes drops, spills, cracked screens, and similar unintentional events.

What Is Covered
  • Defects in materials or workmanship
  • Touchscreen failures not caused by misuse
  • Accidental damage (subscription required)
  • Hardware failures during normal use
No Active Subscription Coverage

In the absence of an active subscription, the Product is covered solely against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days from the original purchase date.

Accidental damage coverage is expressly excluded when no active subscription is in effect.

  • Covers manufacturer defects only.
  • Coverage lasts 180 days from the original purchase date.
  • Accidental damage is not covered without an active subscription.

What Is Not Covered
  • Loss or theft
  • Intentional damage or abuse, ie: Smashed unit
  • Purely cosmetic damage
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Use outside the intended purpose

Replacement Process (Cross Shipment)

All warranty claims are subject to evaluation and approval by technical support. Verification of subscription status may be required.

  • Support must confirm replacement is required.
  • Replacement units or parts may be cross-shipped.
  • Next business day shipping is provided when available.
  • The original unit must be returned within the specified timeframe if the full unit is replaced
  • Failure to return the original Product may result in additional charges.

Replacement Units

Replacement units may be new or refurbished and will be functionally equivalent or better than the original Product.

Transferability

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and the original Product, unless otherwise approved in writing.


Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this Warranty is the exclusive remedy for hardware defects and accidental damage. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of use.

Governing Law

This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Policy Changes

This Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Product or subscription after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
